Our dear sisters of the Province Mother Carmela of Jesus, in Brazil, are celebrating the VI Provincial Chapter. An event of much grace for the province and for the whole congregation who walks in the footsteps of the Foundress Mother Carmela Prestigiacomo.
A highlight of the Chapter was the choice of the new provincial government. And Sister Maria Doralice Pereira was elected new Provincial Superior, Sister of great experience, with a great love to the whole Congregation and dedication to all. Here we offer some informations of her life, which will help us to know her better and then pray for her:
Sister Maria Doralice Pereira began his religious life working in the apostolate of education and instruction in what was the Brazilian region. Degree in Literature at the Faculty of San Marco, in St Paul was dedicated to teaching in our schools and was also trainer of young vocations. She has participated and collaborated in the General and Provincial Chapters. She was elected general councilor in 1994 for a period of six years. She was provincial superior in Brazil during two consecutive four-year (2000-2008). At the end of the mandate she has left for Argentina and then in Bethlehem. Returning to Brazil, she was elected provincial vicar in 2013. In the Provincial Chapter VI, day December 1, 2016 has been re-elected as Provincial Superior of the Province Mother Carmela of Jesus. For all we thank God.
After the choice of the Provincial Superior, it chose the councillor that will accompany the coming four years of government. They were chosen as Provincial Vicar Sister Rosicleide Defavari, second counselor Sister Carmelita De Oliveira, third Councillor Sister Izabel de Carvalho and fourth Councillor Sister Eliane Nunes. To all we send our best wishes for peaceful and fruitful service.
